Summary: Link has received a mysterious invitation one day, inviting him and three more friends to participate in a tournament, called the Demon Tournament. He finds out that if he chooses to decline, demons from the Netherworld will be sent to attack Hyrule and all of its inhabitants. There was no choice in the matter.
With his team and weapons ready, Link journeys to the Netherworld where the Demon Tournament is waiting.
